Perennial Harmony began eight months before my mom’s birthday. I did not know how long a crocheted bouquet would take, and because it was for a very special birthday, I wanted to give myself enough time to make something thoughtful and new.
Flowers had not been a big part of my crochet practice yet, so the bouquet felt like a meaningful challenge. I started with two roses because they are her favorite flowers. After that, the arrangement still felt a little too plain, so I added three lavender stems instead of making more roses.
The final daisy helped balance the colors and brought the whole bouquet together. It took about one month to make, and each flower became part of a handmade gift meant to last beyond the birthday itself.
