Kaleidoscope Current is the biggest project I have made so far. It took two full weeks of steady work, about three to four hours every day, to shape the head and build out the long drifting strands.
The color story came from a real moment in the process. After spending a day on the head, I realized there was not enough yarn left to finish the whole jellyfish in one color. Instead of stopping, I let the piece change direction. Red, green, yellow, pink, and blue became part of the design, turning a shortage into the soft rainbow movement of the finished work.
That shift gives the jellyfish its feeling of lightness. The striped head feels bright and rounded, while the ruffled edge and curled strands trail downward like motion caught in yarn.
